Every figure carries its source and date.

Why the loyal lose

None of it is your fault. All of it is by design.

The bonus that quietly ends

A new account opens at a good rate with a bonus that falls away after a year. Nobody rings to say so. Blooom remembers the date and says what the drop costs.

The letter nobody reads

A rate cut arrives as a letter or a notification and joins the pile. Blooom shows you the gap in pounds.

Another bank feels like a risk

It is not. The FSCS protects £120,000 per person at each banking licence, so money at a bank on a separate licence has its own limit. Opening an easy-access account takes about ten minutes, and your old one stays open for bills.

Three steps, ten minutes, once

Then Blooom compares it for you.

Questions, answered.

Is it worth moving for a small balance?

That is what it could earn, in pounds a year. Blooom says so when the gap is too small to bother with, and it says so when it is not.

Do I have to close my old account?

No. You can keep your bank account for bills and hold savings elsewhere.

Is my money protected at a bank I have not heard of?

The FSCS protects eligible deposits up to £120,000 per person, per banking licence, whoever the bank is. Blooom shows which licence each account is under.

Is this advice?

No. Blooom shows what your money earns against the market and where it could sit. Opening an account is your call, and the provider decides whether it accepts you.

Can I cancel Blooom+?

Any time. Your first 14 days are a full refund with no questions. After that, cancelling stops the next charge and you keep it to the end of the period you paid for.
